Seeing The Potential in Your Space

AMY’S COLOR AND DECOR STORY

Color consultant smiles while going through fabrics

My career in interiors and decorating started out of college in the 1980s. I sold modern European furniture at Kasala, in the Pike Place Market.  Then I worked at Glant Textiles, a high-end Italian upholstery fabric wholesaler Seattle. These experiences were foundational to my evolution as a decorator and color consultant. The elemental textures, natural beauty and color stories of the Pacific Northwest inspired my work. In the 90’s I raised my family on Bainbridge Island, where I grew up. In the 2010’s, I went back to work at a local furniture store called Furnish Bainbridge.

While working at Furnish Bainbridge, I honed my ability to see the potential of each client’s space. Decorating isn’t just about adding a new coach. I saw the need for comprehensive color continuity. I helped clients edit furniture, change wall colors, reconfigure layouts, add new rugs, incorporate family heirlooms, and create harmonious aesthetics in their homes. In 2023, I started Island Color and Decor based on my experience and reputation.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve established a name for myself locally as an expert decorator and color consultant. I am passionate about my work. I strive to help my clients understand their own unique style and to see the potential in their homes. I help clients create liveable and functional spaces in harmony with northwest colorschemes. The same colors and textures that inspired me as a young woman guide my work to this day.
